The Largest Known Pearl

If you have over $400,00 then you are in luck! You might be able to buy the world's largest pearl. Although the auction house has denied the rumors, people are still speculating whether or not the pearl will go up for auction. The pearl weighs 33.13 cts and measures 16.5 mm by 17.4 mm. (Not the pearl in the photo.) There might be other pearls larger out there but this is the only natural saltwater pearl to come up for auction. There has not been a larger pearl sold in the last 50 years.

The Orient of Pearls

This pearl is often referred to as the "Orient of Pearls" because of its attractive white color with rose and green overtones. It was originally worn as an earring with a cultured pearl. Imagine having that on your ear? We haven’t heard what it went for yet but we’re excited to find out!
